Industrial Energy Efficiency Program

Transform your industrial process with incentives for energy-efficiency improvements

What is the Save on Energy Industrial Energy Efficiency Program?

The IESO’s Save on Energy Industrial Energy Efficiency Program (IEEP) supports industrial customers across Ontario in improving their industrial processes and implementing system optimization projects. The program offers organizations up to $5 million in financial incentives for each large, complex industrial energy-efficiency project accepted into the program. Eligible projects will deliver electricity savings using proven commercial technologies to lower energy consumption and reduce electricity bills.

How does the program work?

IEEP provides incentives to qualifying industrial participants over three competitive rounds of funding to be initiated in 2022 and 2023. In each round, participant applications will be ranked on the electricity savings their projects can achieve cost effectively, among other criteria. The organizations with the highest-ranked applications will be eligible to receive funding for their project(s).

Timelines
There are two rounds of funding in 2023. Applications for previous round closed on March 15.

  • Applications for the final round of funding in 2023 must be submitted to the IESO by 11.59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Participants deemed eligible based on their applications will be invited to submit a more detailed application with a Measurement and Verification (M&V) plan by September 26 for the final round of funding. The IESO will notify successful applicants by the end of Q4.

Please contact us at IndustrialEEprogram@ieso.ca if you have questions or would like more information.
