The HomeEnergySaver program is offered as a local initiative program (LIP). These programs are intended to deliver conservation and demand management savings in targeted areas of the province with identified electricity system needs. The objective is to reduce demand in these areas to avoid or defer transmission investment.
The areas that have been identified as eligible for the local initiatives were chosen in collaboration with the IESO’s regional planning team and include areas where demand growth is happening more quickly than the provincial average and where electricity infrastructure may need reinforcement in years to come.
The HomeEnergySaver Program allows stacking incentives, but the total of incentives received cannot exceed the project's total cost.
