What precautions are being put in place in light of COVID-19?

Effective March, 16, 2020, in-person interactions between Save on Energy representatives and participants of Save on Energy programs have ceased until further notice.  The IESO is implementing these temporary precautionary measures to safeguard the health of its employees, vendors and customers. Support remains available online and over the phone. Please visit our contact page.


Will new program applications continue to be accepted?

Yes. New customers may submit applications through the regular channels identified in the specific program’s application process.


I am a participant of the Retrofit program and have a site visit scheduled in the near future, who should I contact to see if it will need to be rescheduled?

Your Save on Energy representative will be in contact with you about rescheduling your site visit. Alternatively, you may contact your technical reviewer directly or, Retrofit support at 1-844-303-5542 or retrofit@ieso.ca.


I am a participant of the Retrofit program, how will this interruption to in-person site visits to my facility affect the timing of my project and final incentive payment?

The IESO is working closely with its Save on Energy representatives to determine the impacts of this request to temporarily cease in-person interactions with Retrofit program participants. Projects affected by this decision will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. The IESO is investigating other means of communication between Save on Energy representatives and participants to help ensure projects move forward in a timely manner, including issuance of incentive payments.


I am a participant of the Home Assistance Program. How will this announcement affect the current timelines for the installation of my approved equipment?

The IESO is working closely with its program delivery partner to determine the impact of this request to temporarily cease in-person interactions Home Assistance Program participants. A Save on Energy representative will be in touch with you to discuss timing and rescheduling of your installation. I am a participant of the Small Business Lighting program. How will this announcement effect the timelines for the installation of my lighting?

How will this affect the evaluations underway of 2019 Save on Energy programs and the timely delivery of verified programs results?

The IESO will continue to conduct evaluations, measurement and verification (EM&V) as per the IESO’s EM&V Protocols, as it provides useful information that can inform recommendations for improvements in program performance. The IESO will continue to conduct EM&V as well as report results on the delivery of energy-efficiency opportunities.
