New for Union Gas or Enbridge customers!

Save on Energy has partnered with Union Gas and with Enbridge to offer joint incentives on select training for Union Gas or Enbridge customers!

For a limited time, eligible customers can receive up to 75 per cent of training fees for Dollars to $ense Energy Management Workshops, Building Operator Certification and Certified Energy Manager training from Union Gas or Enbridge and Save on Energy.

Dollars to $ense Energy Management Workshops

Build a foundation of energy-efficiency knowledge 

Whether you are new to energy management or have some experience already, Dollars to $ense (D2$) standard or customized workshops are a great place to start. Anyone can take part, from financial staff and project managers to technical staff and building operators. Learn to build an energy management team, identify savings opportunities or create a project business case. Whatever your needs, there is a workshop for you.

The Save on Energy Training and Support incentive covers up to a maximum of 50 per cent or up to $300 per day of any standard or customized workshop fees for eligible participants.  

 



The joint Save on Energy/Union Gas incentive covers up to a maximum of 75 per cent or up to $500 per day of any standard or customized workshop fees for eligible Union Gas participants.
 
 
Eligibility
 

You may be eligible to receive the incentive if you: 
  • successfully complete a standard or customized workshop offered by the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET);
  • are currently employed with an accountability for energy management or building operations in a commercial, institutional or industrial facility in Ontario with a minimum of 50,000 sq. ft.; and
  • are a Union Gas customer in good standing (for the 75% incentive).

Specialized Development

If you want to improve efficiency and constantly innovate, you need to stay on top of industry developments. Receive specialized training on various energy-efficient technologies and techniques and you could be eligible for a Save on Energy incentive of up to 50 per cent of the cost. This includes:

End-Use Training

Provide improved systems performance  

Understanding the energy efficiency functions of various end-use technologies can reduce operating and maintenance costs and improve system efficiency and reliability. 

Applicable training includes:

Adopt efficient practices by taking one or more applicable training courses. The Save on Energy Training and Support incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $750 of each course fee for eligible participants. 

Eligibility 

You may be eligible to receive the incentive if you: 
  • successfully complete training offered by a recognized provider of the Compressed Air Challenge or Pump System Optimization training; or the HVAC Optimization for High Performance Sustainable Buildings training offered by BOMI and within three (3) months of registering;
  • are currently employed with an accountability for energy management or building operations in a commercial, institutional, or industrial facility in Ontario with a minimum size of 50,000 sq ft.;
  • have two or more years of experience working in an environment as specified above, OR you have one year of experience AND one year of college-level education in a facility operations and maintenance-related program.

Advanced Building Recommissioning

Enjoy the benefits of improved building performance and comfort  

Buildings are complex and even small operational problems can have big impacts on performance. Recommissioning optimizes existing building systems to reduce energy use and improve performance. By becoming knowledgeable in building recommissioning you can increase tenant comfort, and reduce inefficiency linked to building performance and maintenance activities. 

Gain the skills of advanced building recommissioning. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $875 of course fees for eligible participants.

Eligibility

You may be eligible to receive the incentive if you:

  • successfully complete the training offered by the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET);
  • are currently employed as a continuous optimization (RCx) service provider, recommissioning agent, building operator, energy manager or facility manager in a commercial, institutional, or industrial facility in Ontario with a minimum size of 50,000 sq ft.;
  • have two or more years of experience working in an environment as specified above;
  • are an engineer registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

RETScreen Expert Training

Quickly identify, analyze and track your energy investments 

The new RETScreen Expert is an intelligent decision support tool that identifies, assesses, optimizes and tracks the performance of clean energy investments. Individuals who are trained on the software can dramatically reduce financial and time costs associated with identifying and assessing potential clean energy projects. 

Become proficient in RETScreen Expert by taking the software tool training. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $800 of course fees for eligible participants. 

For a limited time, receive a free one-year subscription to RETScreen Expert Professional mode (new subscribers only)!


Eligibility 

You may be eligible to receive the course incentive if you: 
  • successfully complete a two or three day training offered by a recognized RETScreen Expert training provider, including:
  • are currently employed with accountability for energy management or building operations in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities in Ontario.

You may also be eligible to receive a free one-year subscription if you and/or your organization:

  • Are a new subscriber to RETScreen Expert Professional mode and have not previously received or paid for a one-year subscription.

Professional Development

Building Operator Certification ® (BOC)

Become a leader in the efficient operation of your facility 

Building operators are integral in conserving energy, increasing tenant comfort and reducing the environmental footprint of facilities. These professionals possess the knowledge and skills needed to provide energy conservation strategies and best practices, as well as select and implement energy efficiency systems. 

Optimize the performance of your facility by becoming certified in building operations. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $1600 of course fees for eligible participants. 

 



The joint Save on Energy/Union Gas incentive covers up to a maximum of 75 per cent or up to $2350 of course fees for eligible Union Gas participants.
 

Eligibility
 

You may be eligible to receive the incentive if you: 
  • successfully complete Building Operator Certification training and receive certification from the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET);
  • are currently employed with an accountability for building operations and maintenance or energy management of a commercial, institutional or industrial facility in Ontario with a minimum of 50,000 sq. ft.;
  • have two or more years of experience working in an environment as specified above OR one year of experience AND one year of college level education in a facilities and maintenance-related program; and
  • are a Union Gas customer in good standing (for the 75% incentive).

Certified Energy Manager ® (CEM)

Guide your facility customers to continued savings  

Energy Managers plan and implement energy management plans for various customers and facilities. Large commercial and institutional buildings can benefit from having a certified energy manager that can provide strategies to reduce carbon emissions reduce energy usage, directly contribute to improving their company’s bottom line. 

Help your customers manage their energy use by becoming certified in energy management. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $1600 of course fees for eligible participants. 

 



The joint Save on Energy/Union Gas incentive covers up to a maximum of 75 per cent or up to $2500 of course fees for eligible Union Gas participants.
 

Eligibility 


You may be eligible to receive the incentive if you: 
  • successfully complete Certified Energy Manager training and receive certification from one of the following organizations:
  • are currently employed with an accountability for providing services in building operations and maintenance or energy management of a large commercial, institutional or industrial facility in Ontario with a minimum of 50,000 sq. ft.;
  • have two or more years of experience working in an environment as specified above, OR have one year of experience AND one year of college level education in a facilities operations and maintenance-related program; and
  • are a Union Gas customer in good standing (for the 75% incentive).

Certified Measurement and Verification Professional ® (CMVP)

Give your customer’s confidence in savings 

Measurement and Verification professionals provide the proof that energy efficiency projects deliver the savings that they promise. Their knowledge and skills help customers understand how projects have performed, and encourage further investment in energy efficiency. 

Verify your customer’s energy efficiency investments by becoming certified in measurement and verification. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $1000 of course fees for eligible participants.

Building Commissioning Professional Certification 

Play a key role in establishing a sustainable and energy efficient facility

As buildings and building systems become more complex, the need for building commissioning becomes more important. Commissioning professionals possess the knowledge and skills to ensure optimal building performance and reduce building operating and maintenance costs.  

Give your clients and your company a competitive edge by becoming certified in the process of building and systems commissioning. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers 50 per cent or up to $1600 of course fees for eligible participants.

Certified Energy Auditor® (CEA) 

Find hidden savings in facility systems

A detailed energy audit is the first step in understanding how energy is being used in a facility. Large commercial and industrial buildings can benefit from having a certified energy auditor efficiently assess facility systems, analyze and evaluate equipment and energy usage, and recommend strategies to reduce consumption and associated costs.  

Expertly identify the best and most efficient way to use energy by becoming certified in energy auditing. The Save on Energy Training and Support Incentive covers up to 50 per cent or up to $1100 of course fees for eligible participants.
